Analía Centurión in Boston, 2023

We are thrilled to announce that Analía Centurión will be back to Boston Oct 27 – 29! This event will feature: Friday night workshop + milonga with performance at the Dance Union, two workshops on Saturday at MIT, and a special *ladies’ day* on Sunday at the TangoAffair Studio. There are discounts for advanced registration.

Analía is an acclaimed artist in Buenos Aires and internationally. She is a wonderful teacher, and a powerful and compelling performer who embodies the most authentic Argentine tango. This is the second time that Analía will be teaching and performing here in Boston in a milonga. Her last year’s visit was a great success, and we are absolutely elated to have her back! She is charming, cordial, and she enjoys working with students.

ABOUT ANALÍA: Analía Centurión is an internationally renowned tango dancer and master from Buenos Aires. From the age of six she has found inspiration in music and art, and she studied piano and classical ballet. She started dancing Argentine Tango in 1995. Two years later she became a tango champion in the most prestigious youth competition in the province of Buenos Aires. Analía studied with the most distinguished old milongueros, such as Mingo Pugliese, Puppy Castello, and Gerardo Portalea, and in 2004 graduated from the “Academia de Estilos de Tango Argentino”. Her career includes dancing with the companies of Juan Carlos Copes, Mora Godoy, and the great Mariano Mores. In addition to performing in the most prestigious milongas in Buenos Aires, including La Baldosa, El Parakultural, and Sunderland Club, she has also starred in some of the most famous tango shows: The Piazzolla Tango Show, The Madero Tango Show, La Ventana Tango, and many more. She is the founder of Centurion Tango Academy in Chacabuco, Buenos Aires.
She has participated in numerous international tango festivals around the globe: London, Seoul, Beijing, Hong Kong, Paradise Bali, Sydney, Las Vegas, Argentina’s Dancing with the Stars, Jakarta, Japan, Istanbul, Caserta – Italy, Toronto, Colombia, Germany, Mexico, Greece, the Baltic nations, Stockholm, and many more. She has also been teaching and performing throughout the US and has represented the Argentine culture at the Vail International Dance Festival, along with great stars of the American Ballet Theater and the Martha Graham Dance Company. She was a dancer at La Opera Maria de Buenos Aires in NYC, at the Atlanta Opera, and the New World Symphony Miami.
She was a juror at the ATUSA championship and festival 2021 and at the International Tango Summit in LA. Her art has gained recognition in magazines like The New Yorker, and she was the featured artist nine times in the New York Times. http://www.tangocenturion.com
