7:00 – 8:15 pm: The Beauty of the Walk (intermediate)
This is a fun class in which we will explore how to create an enjoyable and attractive dance by using simple walking steps. Sleek, elegant, and measured walking that reflects the musical phrases. How to play with the size of the step, switching weight, accelerating and slowing down. Corridas, vaivenes, and walking turns. While choreographically relatively uncomplicated, this class will improve your technical and musical accuracy while making you familiar with the moves that are not only beautiful, but also very useful for social dancing.
8:30 – 9:45 pm: Turns with Sacadas (intermediate/advanced)
Doing complex, sustained turns is one of the most challenging things for both leaders and followers. Learn to start them from any step in both cross and parallel systems, and finish them elegantly. Understanding the structure of the turn with sacadas is essential for creating complex sequences in tango. Followers learn to combine style, grace, and power with their footwork and embellishments.
